EyeCare Service Partners (ECSP), an ophthalmic and optometric provider with
practices throughout the U.S., began experiencing a decline in appointment requests
and new patient volume in early 2020. They hired office manager, Shadetra Johnson,
to begin searching for channels for new patient acquisition. Shadetra began
transitioning ECSP's traditional marketing efforts to digital marketing channels and
signed 47 of their physicians up with Featured Profiles from WebMD and Vitals.

Three months after Shadetra joined the ECSP team, the COVID-19 pandemic began. During this time many non-emergency medical offices without established digital channels or telemedicine services began experiencing a decline in patient volume. Luckily for Shadetra and her team, WebMD Care Directories Featured Profiles began bringing in new patients. Many of these patients were turning to WebMD to self diagnose themselves. When patients within ECSP's zip codes searched for terms like "Dry Eye" or "Red Eye" on webmd.com, they saw display ads for ECSP's Physicians' Featured Profiles. After these patients ECSP's Physician's Profiles they could easily click to call a physician's office or request an appointment. Additionally ECSP physicians added important details about their practices to their Featured Profiles, including their office hours, location, accepted forms of insurance, and a brief description and embedded video.

WebMD and Vitals proved to be a reliable source of leads for the ECSP team, as
they generated more new patient appointments and lowered their overall cost-
per-lead rate. During a time when other non-emergency healthcare providers
began experiencing a decline in appointment requests, ECSP found a way to
reach leads who where otherwise unreachable with social distancing guidelines
in place. Shadetra credits her early success at ECSP to Featured Profile features
like online booking and display advertising. Because of Featured
Profiles, ECSP increased their overall lead-to-patient conversion rate.
